Personally, I am not a red meat gal.. never have been since I was little (not ED related fear or anything!)... steak (not a chance! guys I'm a cheap date ;), Filet mignon, beef burgers, hot dogs..not really my thing! I however, love ground turkey! So today I was feeling a turkey burger! Now... depending on the restaurant burger can be crazy high in calories, saturated fat, and carbs. Most of this is from the fact that the portion is double or triple what most people need for a serving...but still! For example... Red Robin's Turkey Burger without the mayo clocks in at 583 Calories with 28g of fat, 51g of Carbs, and 34g of Protein! Now I have learned that if I go to a restaurant and want a burger, my serving to meet my needs would be 1/2 to 3/4 of the burger with a side dish of my choice. SO I can cut those macros down a bit... but homemade burgers are going to be cheaper, healthier, and I can cutomize it with everything I want to meet my macros! So here is my version of a turkey burger full of quality protein, healthy fats and carbs, and tastes AMAZING! Not only that...you can make this anytime of year since it can be made using a pan inside, not a grill!
