Yes, for once I am actually thankful for the body I have. I may not like it's size or how it looks... but today I realized I am thankful for the things it can do and has allowed me to achieve. I am thankful for the ability to follow my passion of lifting. My body has muscles that can perform and lift weights...some people cannot do this due to medical issues, genetics, or lack of desire but no matter what my body can and I am THANKFUL it is strong enough now to do so.
OH and I am thankful for the healing power the human body has... with an injury to my foot I am thankful the body can fix the damage we can cause. My body is hard at work repairing itself and I don;t even know or feel it. When I was recovinering from my ED..my body was repairing tissue damage to my heart, muscles, skin, and hair. The body is amazing and today I have come to realize that no matter how much I hate how it looks ight now...it is a beautiful machine that can do so much!
2) MY MOM
I am so thankful for my mom! She has been there by my side through my whole life.. no matter what shenanigans I get into! She always supports me! She isn't perfect...she makes mistakes...may say the wrong thing during my recovery about food or body image.. but she is still my rock and I know with her by my side I can do anything and overcome the impossible.
3) MY FRIENDS
What would I do without my friends! No matter how silly, stupid, insane, crazy, or weird I am... they are right there with me! They support me... I support them. Need a hug? DUH! Need someone to rant to at midnight about a stupid guy... they are there! Need a night out of just fun... my friends... we do it right! My best friend Hannah (7 years... say what??) is my girl! She is amazingly talented in fashion design, sports, and being a ginger ;) GIrl! We are killing it in NYC and I miss ya while I'm home!!!!
I honestly am so thankful for the opportunity to study at the greatest university! The opportunities for jobs, internships, meeting people and business leaders, and fun are everywhere! I have had the chance to do some amazing things: the Heisman, the Super Bowl, being basketball manager, being an athletic trainer, seeing the NFL Draft, listening to the GM of the Vancouver Canucks, listening to NY Giants players, having Olympians as professors... the list goes on! I am grateful for the chance to be able to afford and attend such a prestigious university and I cannot wait to return in January!
